Sudirman Cup Tournament:
Russia beat he Netherlands 3-2 and will now face Thailand on Friday to see who is the best team to come out of Group 2. In other action Switzerland beat South Africa 4-1, Scotland beat the Czech Republic 3-1, Russia beat the Netherlands 3-2, Sweden beat Australia 3-1, and India
had little trouble with Bulgaria and took the match 3-0. This secures them an opportunity to move on in to Group 2. This is the first time that India has advanced to Group 2 since the India make it to Sudirman Cup Group 2tournament started in 1989. Saina Nehwal (at right) took only 36 minutes to defeat Linda Zetchiri 21-14, 21-17 to remain undefeated in the tournament.
Malaysia beat Denmark 3-2 after Denmark lost their star men's singles player Peter Gade on Wednesday. At left Lee Chong Wei and Denmark's Jan O Jorgensen shake hands after their match in which Wei won 21-11, 21-18. China still proved that they are the team to be reckoned with as they didn't give up a point to the Indonesians and won 5-0. And finally the Ukraine beat the Americans 3 1. This sets up Saturday's Group 1 matches with China facing Malaysia and a match-up with Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei. Dan is still wanting revenge after Wei took the Swiss Open earlier in the year. In the other match it will be Korea versus Indonesia.
