Redraw for the men's singles side draw of the China Masters

Friday September 11, 2009 - There has been a redraw for the men's singles side draw of the China Masters in Changzhou next week.  Lee Chong Wei now has Lin Dan in his side of the draw, meaning only one player will make it to the final.  The Badminton World Federation decided to do the redraw after Polish shuttler Wacha Przemyslaw.  Usually there is no redraw if only one or two players withdraw from the tournament.  The BWF event manager, V. Venugopal, said: “The tournament referee felt the need for a redraw. They had a good reason to do it and it was carried out yesterday. Only the men’s singles competition was affected.”  National coach Misbun Sidek didn't feel that the redraw would really affect Wei.
