Macau Open:
In men's singles Choong Hann Wong ranked number four out of Malaysia was able to conquer Jin Chen of China 21-13, 6-21, 21-11. After losing the second set badly, Wong was able to regroup and compose himself to win the third and deciding set, sending him to the Macau Open finals tomorrow. He will have the task of taking out another powerhouse in fellow countrymen Lee Chong Wei. Wei defeated Taufik Hidayat in 28 minutes 21-18, 21-20. Wei is looking to rebound after bowing out of the World Championships in the quarter-finals last week.
In women's singles Yihan Wang ended Germany's Julianne Schenk's run for the title in a 23-21, 21-7 score. In the other semi-final Yanjiao Jiang beat Hong Kong's Chen Wang 21-9, 21-14. This will set up a familiar all-Chinese final.
Jing Du and Yang Yu of China, ranked number one at this tournament will face Hendra Aprida Gunawan and Vita Marissa of Indonesia for the women's doubles title. The men's doubles title will definetely go to Malaysia, but will it be Tan Fook Choong and Wan Wah Lee or Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan?
