Macau Open badminton tournament: Final Results

 Sunday August 23, 2009 - Lee Chong Wei added another title to his resume after he won the men's singles title today over Choong Hann Wong 21-15, 21-19.

Team manager How Kim Tho commented after the match saying, " that although he emerged triumphant, Chong Wei appeared lethargic and made numerous mistakes against veteran Choong Hann."  Kim believes that the last two weeks have taken their toll on Wei.
 
Hendra April Gunawan, left, and Vita Marissa lost in the mixed doubles final to Chinese duo He Hanbin and Yu Yang. The women's title went to China's Yihan Wang in an impressive thre set victory over Yanjiao Jiang 16-21, 22-20, 21-12 that lasted just under one hour.
 
Men's doubles pair Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan held off an upset to take the title with a 21-14, 17-21, 21-12 victory over number two Tan Fook Choong and Wan Wah Lee. The Chinese women's doubles pair of Jing Du and Yang Yu are the 2009 champions after a decisive  21-16, 21-11 win against Hendra Aprida Gunawan and Vita Marissa of Indonesia.
 
It took 29 minutes to decide the mixed doubles final in which Hanbin He and Yang (f) Yu won 21-14 21-9 over Hendra Aprida Gunawan and Vita Marissa of Indonesia (pictured at above left).
