Lee Chong Wei is confident about matching Lin Dan

 May 23, 2009 - Lee Chong Wei has the confidence to match up against Lin Dan after always being in his shadow, earlier in his career. "It used to be Lin Dan against Taufik (Hidayat of Indonesia) but I have been able to challenge the Olympic champion now. The rivalry is something like Nadal against Federer," Wei said.  He also went on to say," "It is hard to predict who will win the next encounter but that is the excitement the men's singles has created and this is good for badminton."  Both players will be gearing up for the World Championships in August, and using the Singapore and Indonesian Championships as a warm-up to the big event.  Lee will be vying for his first World Championship , while Lin Dan will try to do what no other player has done, win three titles in a row.
 
Malaysia's National badminton head coach Rexy Mainaky's wife was injured on Friday night went her purse was snatched by two thieves.  When the assailant tried to grab her bag she was thrown to the ground and dragged, suffering minor injuries to her left arm.  Rexy then jumped in to his car and chased the thieves before knocking over their motorcycle.  On-lookers helped subdued the suspect while the driver fled the scene.  Rexy's wife Heeny was treated, and will make a complete recovery.
