Advantages VS Disadvantage of Service or to serve in Badminton

In a correct serve the player must:

* wait for the receiver to be ready (neither side can delay the service more than needed, any obvious delay will be considered undue)

* stand in the correct serve area, (right or left depending on score) the receiver must always be standing diagonally from server

* Have some part of both feet with direct contact with the ground, and no movement is allowed, this also applies for the receiver

* make sure the birdie is below the waist when it comes in contact with the service racket

* make sure the head of the racket is below the handle when it strikes the birdie for service

* send the birdie directly over the net diagonally to the correct receivers area

* make a forward continuous stroke until serve is complete

* Attempt to hit the bottom of the birdie and avoid hitting the feathers

* avoid missing the birdie

The server shall never make a feint attempt prior or during serve, but serve in one clear stroke. If the server faults, a point is awarded to the opposite team.
